Raphael Filippi and Christophe Dessart along with a few other French adventurers recently completed the longest river SUP in France, 250 miles (400kms) stand up paddling the river Rhone from Lyon, France to the sea. They paddled 8 to 12 hours per day and had to portage around 12 locks on the journey which started on 13 May and they reached the sea on the 16th of May. The river Sup was to promote the Surfrider Foundation Europe.

Extreme athlete Tom Jones is going to Paddle Board from Key West Florida to New York City to raise awareness about plastics in the ocean. Jones has already paddled the entire coast of California and run 120 marathons in 120 consecutive days and his newest challenge to paddle board the east coast of America is called Paddle 2010.
