F-One, a leading kitesurfing equipment company, has released the first dedicated kite for SUP. The kite is called the Source. The Source kite is designed to be used with sup boards in light winds of 6 – 12 knots.

The sup kite is a C-kite with only two lines to keep it simple, super stable, lightweight, easier to handle and inexpensive. F-One hopes to target people who SUP that might want to try a kite when it gets windy, people who want to get into kiting in an easier way and kite boarders who want to be able to go out in very light wind. F-One says that it can see SUP kiting as a good way to introduce people to kiting and a new beginner teaching method.

Fanatic, a leading windsurfing manufacturer, has a new line of stand up paddle boards. Fanatic is hoping to follow the success of two other windsurf manufacturers who have done well with their line of SUP boards, Naish and Starboard.

The new 2011 Fanatic boards are good looking, stylish boards with nice shapes as you can see in this video showing off part of the new Fanatic Fly line. With this hot new line, Fanatic should make a strong entry into the paddle board market.

Boardworks has a new inflatable SUP called the SHUBU which stands for show up and blow up. The SHUBU is 10′ long by 30 1/2″ wide and 4 inches thick. It has 200 liters volume. The inflatable paddle board comes in 4 colors and features a separate deck, rail and bottom colors and has 4 d-rings on the forward deck with bungee tie down straps for holding cargo.  It comes with pump with pressure gauge, backpack,  and a patch kit. The Boardworks SHUBU is only $900 which is considerably cheaper than the inflatables offered by ULI and C4 Waterman.

In this video commercial for the SHUBU they show a separate center fin, but this has been changed and now the SHUBU has an all rubber glued on tri fin set up.
