The 2012 Standup World Tour consists of six contests held in six different locations around the world. The first stop has already been held in Sunset Beach,Oahu, Hawaii. The next stop is coming up soon in France. There is a stop in Tahiti, in California, and in Brazil plus this year there is a surprise final stop which for now is known only as location x. I wonder where it will be? Last years final was on the big island of Hawaii.
Here is the dates and locations of the tour events for 2012:
La Torche Pro France April 28th – May 6th, 2012
Sapinus Pro Tahiti May 26th- June 3rd
Huntington beach Pro California September 12th – September 19th
Maresias Pro Brazil October 20th – October 28th

This is an outstanding documentary from Oxbow. It is beautifully shot in Maui at the iconic big wave Peahi or Jaws. The documentary features some of the world’s best waterman, and showcases their skills in kiting, windsurfing, surfing and stand up paddling.
This documentary from the Sundance Channel’s Iconoclasts documentary series, features Eddie Vedder, lead singer of the band Pearl Jam and Laird Hamilton, world’s best big wave surfer. Eddie Vedder visits Laird at his home in Hawaii and they go stand up surfing and just enjoy each others company. Laird also visits Eddie in California to attend a concert.
The first stop of the 2012 Standup World Tour was held on the north shore of Oahu at Sunset beach, February 4-14th. The Sunset Beach Pro was won by Bonga Perkins- Hawaii. Second place was Kai Lenny-Hawaii, third place went to Peyo Lizarazu of France and Ikaika Kalama of Hawaii came in fourth.

The 2012 Standup World Tour starts with the first stop of the world tour at the Sunset Beach Pro contest held February 4th-`14th at sunset beach on the north shore of Oahu. We look forward to another exciting year of the tour.
