Starboard Team rider, Dave Muir from Australia powers to a win in the third stop on the Standup World Tour, the Sapinus Pro in Tahiti. The event was held on Tahiti’s Sapinus reef break. Second place goes to Tama Audibert (Tahiti) with Aaron Napoleon (Hawaii) taking third place and Tahutini Heifera (Tahiti) in fourth.

May 27, 2010 –( From C4 Waterman) Some of Hawaii’s most decorated and respected watermen will be in Colorado next week to compete in Teva Mountain Games, unofficially known as the Olympics of mountain sports.
Heading to the event and party scheduled June 3 – 6 are representatives of C4 Waterman, the Honolulu-based pioneers of stand up paddling boards and paddles. Headlining the C4 posse are company co-founders Brian Keaulana and Todd Bradley. They will be joined by Archie Kalepa, Kalani Vierra, Jen Koki, and Bruce Raymond (Australia), all of whom honed their skills and reputations at sea level. Now the team will be tested in the world’s highest surf competition on the bone-chillingly cold, snowmelt-fed whitewater of Gore Creek, at the base of this world-renowned ski resort.

Kialoa makes fine stand up paddles and one of their models is called the Methane. It is their best selling paddle. It is a slim bladed paddle that is popular with surfers, women and many distance racers.

The second annual OluKai Ho’olaule’a Ocean Festival was held on May 15th and 16th at Kanaha Beach Park in Maui.  The OluKai stand up paddle race covered the eight mile long famous Maliko Downwinder which begins at Maliko gulch and ends at Kanaha Beach on Maui’s north shore.
